Never did I ever think I would find the passion and motivation to dive into the blogging world. I mean, it only took a pandemic for me to find this inner most desire to do so, which kick started my creative energy. So, here we are.
I have a lot of passions in life and always find myself looking for the next new adventure. Nothing depicts this more clearly than my professional resume, where I’ve held five different positions over a span of the past five years. Hey, what can I say, I’m well-rounded and versatile….
So, when the thought of creating a blog first popped into my head, I referred back to a TED Talk I had listed to, How Great Leaders Inspire Action by Simon Sinek, where he discusses his most known topic, “Start With Why”. Essentially, he talks about the “Golden Circle” which he explains is “a naturally occurring pattern, grounded in the biology of human decision making, that explains why we are inspired by some people, leaders, messages and organizations over others.”
In this Golden Circle, you begin by starting with your ‘Why’? – Why do you want to do this and what is your purpose? Then you work your way out and identify your ‘How’ – How do you do what you want to do? Finally you identify your ‘What’ – What do you do? This simple exercise is what brought to light why I should start my own blog and gave me the motivation to do so:
- WHY? – Help and inspire others with my ideas, passions, projects and advice that I have been sharing already with friends, family and co-workers.
- HOW? – Organize and share these ideas, passions, projects and advice.
- WHAT? – Create a blog.
With my never ending home renovations, personal and professional event planning experience and continuous search for new and delicious recipes, I have decided to share all of my tips, tricks and projects within these three areas – Lifestyle, Design and Recipes.
So, here we are. Five weeks deep quarantining from COVID-19. Five weeks of discovering new routines, creating lifestyle adjustments, finding new ways to connect with loved ones and searching for the upside of things while our world has been turned upside down.
Never have I related so much to one of my favorite phrases – When life gets blurry, adjust your focus. So here’s my lending hand in helping you create a clearer vision for yourself and the environment around you.
